Inner Guidance 3 ~ Advance
To graduate from beginning to utilize inner guidance to advance further on this path, you need to integrate your inner guidance and get to depend on it for most of what happens in your life.
As your skill level improves you become more successful at listening inwardly and at interpreting the many signals, feelings, thoughts and impressions that come to you through this source, your inner and higher self.
If you continue to follow these signals with practical actions you will experience that your inner guidance will sometimes draw you into more risky situations, but that it will also show you how to deal with them. Occasionally you will experience an unusual coincidence - a "chance" meeting or event that helps you on your journey. As such events happen with increasing frequency, your faith in the path you have chosen and in your inner guidance gradually increases.
This is often a time where you gain enough confidence to strike out on your own, to follow a path you are being guided along and to take risks. As you do so, much of your buried pain and stress will come to the surface, rising from your subconscious mind to your conscious mind to be expressed, integrated and healed. This is only a good thing, a process of liberation.
It is, then, a challenging but exciting time of transition, with much change and growth. For example, you may feel drawn to separate from your long-term partner if that is holding both of you back, or to leave a secure job and try your hand at something new. This is where trust stops being a neat intellectual notion and starts forming the foundation on which you build your life.
Before you encountered inner guidance you based your trust on your analytical ability, or you trusted what others told you to do, or what was the conventional wisdom. Or you acted according to your emotional reactions. You calculated the odds for success in making a new career decision or forming a new relationship, but you didn't feel you 'knew.' But now, as you start to integrate inner guidance into your thought process, you are learning to base your trust on something a lot less tangible. You are learning to trust the experience of inner guidance itself - trusting it to carry you across stormy oceans to some unseen and unknown shore... but a shore you know you want to visit.
Your fears come to the surface. You doubt yourself like never before. Then at other times you experience an intensity of caring and compassion you have never known and a certainty that is entirely new. This is the path of Love.
Sometimes when you are quiet and still, you recognize your inner guidance stirring. You feel a kind of creative pregnancy. You learn to recognize these moments and know you need to clear a space to "get creative" because you realize that these increasingly frequent moments are times when breakthroughs happen.
Maybe you receive an idea that solves a business problem you have had for months. Or you acknowledge there is a new understanding you need to share with your family. Gradually you learn to trust this power more and more often and know you need to listen and follow its gentle and increasingly persistent prompting.
These periods of gentle prompting and guidance are also accompanied by rare times when your inner guidance makes its presence felt in a powerful way. These moments usually happen in response to an urgent build up of difficulty in your life. Such intense guidance may come through as a dream when you are asleep, or you may "hear" someone speaking to you when no one is around, maybe not in words but as a very clear knowing, that might as well be verbal. Such strong and unmistakable guidance, you learn, is life changing and must be followed.
Gradually as you develop a history of listening to, trusting, and following your inner guidance, and your relationship with your higher self becomes more proven and robust, the stress you previously experienced from taking on new challenges lessens.
